Where are/were you?

Picture 9

Ten:15 is asking, at 12:15 PM/EST, for a glimpse into where you were and what you were doing while Obama takes his oath of office. Simply send your picture, taken from a camera phone or camera, via email to photo@ten15am.com. Remember to include your name, the location, a title for your photo and your website link (if you have one).

What an amazing weekend/week

We're all looking forward to tomorrow - it's almost unbelievable that it's already here and that this is all really happening. But, today, let's not forget why many of us have this day off. If you have just 17 minutes to spare, take the time to watch the speech that has helped build the path to get to where our country is today:

And don't forget that today is a national day of service. Although, I should have posted that link way earlier and it's probably too late to find something for today (but you never know! plug in your zip and see what comes up.) At the least, we can begin today to make the responsible decision to play our part to get involved and to give back to our communities.

Hyperakt posted some photos on their Flickr photostream of the Manifest Hope: DC exhibit going on this weekend. For the slew of you that are there now — if you get some downtime between the balls and concerts, you should pop in (and send me some pics!)

Sol Sender interview on the Obama logo development

Picture 1

Sender LLC principal, Sol Sender directed a team of designers that created the defining symbol of Obama's 2008 campaign. The assignment begin in late 2006 when Sender was was hired by MODE, a Chicago-based motion design studio with a relationship with chief campaign strategist, David Axelrod.

Sender is now a strategist with VSA Partners and there is a great video interview I found on their site where Sender shares his story of how the Obama '08 logo was concepted and the strategy behind it. To make this even better — (because I have yet to see this in other articles) he even walks us through the other rounds of logos that did not make the cut.

It's a new day

First off, I take back my music-snobbery remarks I made years ago that will.i.am is a sellout; I can't get enough of this video. Secondly, this makes me grin from ear to ear and I think I should watch this every morning when I wake up to help start my day.

Thanks John for the tip!
