What an amazing weekend/week

We're all looking forward to tomorrow - it's almost unbelievable that it's already here and that this is all really happening. But, today, let's not forget why many of us have this day off. If you have just 17 minutes to spare, take the time to watch the speech that has helped build the path to get to where our country is today:

And don't forget that today is a national day of service. Although, I should have posted that link way earlier and it's probably too late to find something for today (but you never know! plug in your zip and see what comes up.) At the least, we can begin today to make the responsible decision to play our part to get involved and to give back to our communities.

Green Thing looks like an interesting site and the concept is simple — they are a not-for-profit public service that inspires creative people and community members from around the world to lead a greener life. So, once you sign up, you can view or upload your own videos and inspiring stories etc. Their manifesto focuses on seven things you can do - and enjoy doing - to lead a greener life: walk the walk, stay grounded, all-consuming, easy on the meat, human heat, plug out and stick with what you've got. Their website is fun and loaded with cute illustrations and chock full of social media outlets to help you stay involved (check out their Flickr page to view more illustrations like the one above.)

Holiday Show: Deck Your Walls!
Friday, December 12th, 6-10 pm through Saturday, December 13th, 12-6 pm

Country Club wants to celebrate the holidays with you Friday, December 12th from 6-10 pm and Saturday, December 13th from 12-6 pm. There will be nog and gingerbread cookies as well as a new batch of fresh silkscreened prints.

To spread the Holiday Spirit, half of the proceeds will benefit the Howard Brown Health Center. Howard Brown is the Midwest’s premier lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) health care organization. Howard Brown provides an expansive network of programs and services, accomplished with a diverse and qualified staff of licensed doctors, nurses, health care practitioners, renowned research professionals, and prominent community leaders.

The agency that I work for recently launched ComeStayHeal.org for the Louisiana SPCA. For a $5 (minimum donation) to the LA/SPCA, you'll have the opportunity to let your love for pets show by uploading a photo and a personal pet story. See Mac's story here.

Art for Autism

Artism is an independent organisation aiming to create a book bursting with artists/graphic designers work which will be sold to raise money for the National Autistic Society charity through the use of Art.We will gladly accept any donation of services or money.
